    Oil Filter Relocation

So my first oil change is coming up and I decided to order a PACBRAKE oil filter relocation.

I don't plan on getting rid of the truck for a very long time and was looking for a long term solution to easier oil changes.

    BAM... here she is!!!!

I won't be able to install till this weekend but I will update you then.

Also I ordered some Valvoline 5w 40 synthetic from Walmart.com.

$72 for 3 gallons and free shipping.

Seemed like a pretty good deal to me.

Also ordered 3 Donaldson filters off of Amazon for $40.

Looks like a nice kit and should make things a little easier.

Looking forward to some photos of the filter location once installed.

    PICS of Install Please!

This is as well on my future to do list!

Possibly keeping the DBL7349 in the stock location and adding a another lower micron rated by-pass filter.

I did this when I did my compounds, definitely easier changing oil filter.

It has a slight tone change or vibration slash growl?

Not to bad though definitely put a piece of rubber under the line that goes over the frame rail sonic doesn't chafing.

    Re: Oil Filter Relocation

I got it all put together today.

I said I would do it last weekend, but it was raining.

The install is pretty self-explanatory, and those hoses sure don't like to flex.

Getting the hoses in place and tight was the toughest part.

This is the first oil change on my truck and removing the old filter was quite the challenge.

I needed one of those ring filter removers, but I FINALLY loosened it with a strap-type oil filter remover but still a huge PITA.

I'm glad I won't have to worry about that ever again.

Future oil changes will be super easy now.

I highly recommend this to anyone servicing their own vehicles.

Also not sure if you needed sealant on the threads.

The install instructions said nothing about this.

I have some thread sealant paste for gas, and diesel fuel applications that I dapped on the threads figured it would resist oil as well.

    Looks great man!

I would be concerned with the tire picking up something off the road and put a hole in that filter.

@watersupply189 the pictures are without the inner wheel well liner.

When that is in place it is behind it and would block any flying debris.

The filter is not visible from inside the wheel well when the liner is in place.

    Gotcha brother.

I wasn’t paying attention that the liner was removed. LOL

I had to trim the inner liner a little.

It would vibrate like a drum.

    It drove me crazy.
