    Question 2003 waste gate???

I was looking at the turbo in my 03 today. I wanted to over ride it.

    Where is it?

I apparently don't have one. Are you sure you do? All we need to do is stuff a golf T into the vacuum line. I have a package of them here

They are mechanical on the 03-04's, mounted on the side of the turbo, 04.5 and up they are electronic. There is a rod that runs horizontal from the actuator to the lever of the waste gate(exhaust side). All you can do is unhook the rod and tie the waste gate shut. Beware that you can overspeed the turbo and send it into low earth orbit! The stocker is only good to about 35psi, anything over that and your super heating the air(very inefficient).

None of that is on there. That's what I was looking for. I'll click a pic tomorrow and show you what I am seeing.

I noticed today it looks like the turbo may have been changed recently.

Best pressure I get is a weak 24 PSI, I think it should be higher. I'm reading it digitally, and it flutters between 23 and 23 WOT

    I take that back
I just went out and looked again. It's on the back side.

How is the waste gate adjusted?

if the rod is threaded on one end then you can make a small adjustment. Or get an aftermarket waste gate actuator, or just go with a better aftermarket turbo!

Not planning on spending that kind of money if I can help it. There's allot of thread there and my high end pressure seems to be lower than it should be @24. WOT should be around 30.

The only turbo Mod I wanted to do was change the compressor to a high volume blade.

As it is, I just dropped a lung on exhaust, cooling fans, and a CAF. I still need an exhaust brake for towing at 1800 bucks

Anybody know how to adjust the waste gates?
