    Over Heating Issue?

Hi Gang, I got an overheating issue that started a few months ago, and I am chasing it.

The problem only happens when running at highway speeds; when I slow down, temp returns.

Even on hot days, stop-and-go traffic has no issue, and the gauge stays at 1808.

When I say hot, it reaches 220*, then I must slow down.

This is unloaded and not towing.

I have changed the thermostat to a 180* and changed the drive belt (I thought it might have been slipping); I figured that the fan must be OK, as I don't have the issue in traffic.

The motor doesn't lose coolant, and the oil isn't contaminated.

Any thoughts would be most welcome!

    Thanks,
    Cam

Is your water pump leaking at all on the housing?

    Thanks for the reply.

No coolant loss, so the pump is not leaking.

    I’d change the water pump.

Change the water pump even if it’s not leaking.

It could be worn out, causing the pump not to circulate fast enough.

    Please keep us informed.
