Front Door Speakers - No Mid Range/Treble (Aftermarket)

Recently the mid-range and treble stopped working in my two front door speakers.

I could hear them cutting out intermittently, but it seemed it finally went out completely.

If that matters, the speakers are Infinity REF-9623 with a Kenwood DMX907S head unit.

I swapped the front speakers with my rear speakers and vice versa to confirm that the front speakers work 100% if placed in the rear and that my rear speakers provide the same lack of midrange and treble when connected to the front wiring.

I am just looking for guidance as I don't know much car audio knowledge.

    Thanks

It sounds like your aftermarket radio could be the issue.

I still have my old head unit, so I think I will put that back in tomorrow and see what happens.

Okay, I installed the old head unit, and the problem persists.

I am assuming it has to be some wiring issue.

It could have a bad set of speakers or finally be blown out.

I've been out of the audio seen for a while.

I would inspect that the connectors on the back are firm and clean.

Check on the head unit that the power levels are up and not neg on the mid and treble.

Verify you don't have open wires exposed and grounding out on any metal.

    The equalizers are all normal.

I have verified that the speakers are working correctly again.

I also tested the adapter that connects the factory wiring harness to the aftermarket speakers at the speaker housing, and there is no issue there.

It all uses the factory wiring harness, as I do not yet have an aftermarket amplifier for the door speakers.

Is it possible the factory amplifier failed in some way?

I looked for fuses for the door speakers, but none seemed to be.

If you have the Infinity audio system, it has a factory amplifier from the quick research I did.

I'm still looking to help out.

Re: Front Door Speakers - No Mid Range/Treble (Aftermarket)

    I have the 8.4 Uconnect/9 speaker Alpine.

I know it has an amplifier above the pedals under the dash.

I wondered if an amplifier can lose just the front channels or something along those lines.

I have no idea what the problem could be otherwise at this point.

I have troubleshooted the head unit and speakers.

    They are not the issue.

I'm unsure how to test the wiring for bad ground somewhere, but it's all the factory wiring harness, so I am unsure how that could be a problem.
