    Exposed Electrical Connections?

I wondered if anyone has dealt with this and what they did to fix it.

My 2015 Cummins (EGR, DEF, DPF) for about 40k miles has been deleted with never an issue.

I now have the service electronic throttle control message, P0472 & P0652 codes.

The engine stutters a little at higher RPMs.

The exhaust pressure and whatever the other plug is in the pic have been unplugged.

That one plug was resting on the exhaust and got a burn mark.

I thought with them being unplugged, there wouldn't be an issue.

Could this possibly be causing my issues, and if so, what should I do to fix it?

Electric cleaner and Shibby plugs or?

See attached troubleshooting information on your two trouble codes.

Looks like the signal wire or 5V reference wire shorted to ground.

I would cut the damaged connector off and then insulate the individual wires and zip them out of harms way.

With this done try clearing the codes.

    Thanks, I'll try that!

What would be the best way to individually insulate them?

I would recommend epoxy lined heat shrink.

    Thanks again for the advice!

I have a question about the heat shrink.

How would I close of the end of the heat shrink on each wire?

I've seen heat shrink end caps online but they are to big for those small individual wires.

The pics I've seen people use them to combine several wires together at the end.

When I cut the connector off should each wire be insulated by itself?

    Thanks again!

I've just seen online some liquid electrical tape.

    Says it's airtight and waterproof.

Maybe use heat shrink and apply that at the end?

Yes, I would insulate each individual wire to simulate an open connector.

I was thinking the epoxy lined heat shrink would seal and insulate the end of the wire.

If this is not the case the liquid electrical tape that you suggested or a piece of electrical tape over the end of the wire with heat shrink over it should work.
