    2016 RAM 6.7L Cummins - White/Bluish Smoke?

2016 6.7L Cummins entirely deleted, I cranked it up this morning, and it sounded horrible dumping white smoke.

After warming up, the smoke lightened up and seemed almost blue.

I pushed the pedal a bit, and it sounded almost like it was loping, and the white smoke began again.

I just changed the oil and fuel filters, and everything looked fine there.

I primed the truck up and started it, and it was only slightly better from this morning but still sounded like **** with the smoke.

I let the truck warm up to average operating temps and checked the tuner for anyDTCs, and there were none.

The smoke cleared up at average temps, but when mashing on the pedal, I got white smoke again.

I think I have a bad injector; I’ll take any advice; please help!!

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Also, I have videos, but I’m unsure how to post them here.

Most likely a leaking injector, but you should also check for coolant loss.

See the attached information and troubleshooting tips.

I agree, sounds like it could be a bad injector. You can try to save it by dumping some good fuel cleaner in there like hot shot secrets diesel xtreme or something but now that's an issue you will probably need some sooner or later though. Don't forget your supply tubes also.

Holler if you have any questions as im happy to help.

I appreciate your help! Is there a way to test my injectors in order to know if I have a bad one? At this point with no engine codes I’m at a loss, I’m not sure if it’s an injector issue or possibly a turbo issue

The only way to test it would be an injector kill test. You would need a decent scanner in order to do that.

Ok sounds good, if it is an injector issue what are some good mild injectors I can buy? I don’t wanna go to crazy or get any too big just over stock would be nice for when I do a turbo and fuel upgrade

I am thinking perhaps BBI stage 0.1 injectors with new crossover tubes. @DDP any other suggestions?

    @Bcarp28

Definitely not a bad option at all. Most customers who are planning for a future upgrade such as a turbo will go slightly larger and just have their tuner tune them back slightly. That way, you have room to grow and don't have to purchase them again in the future.

Those are as close to oem as you can get.

Most of our customers will go with these and then have them tuned down slightly if they feel the need too. Most don't and just run them as is which is perfectly fine.

Then when you are ready, you can pair it with one of our awesome cheetah like turbos!
