Nextgen diesel offers a valve body kit for the 68RFE transmission.
Is it needed, and is it worth the time and money?

Just for info.
I used Revmax for the valve body change out.
Most excellent folks you ever deal with.
Answered my questions.
I got lucky on getting the valve body.
Were back ordering the 2019's, and while talking to sales, it popped up that five were due in a couple of days.
Mine came in about a week later, and I had a local transmission shop install.
I did not get a warm fuzzy doing it myself.
The truck immediately was shifting better.
The shop called Revmax about a question they had and commented to me about how helpful they were.
Revmax is the bomb!
Agreed!
I talked with Revmax a handful of times before buying and installing their valve body on my 3rd Gen.
Top-notch for sure.

Hi, what kind of problems did you have with them?
I bought one of their valve body kits but haven't had time to install it yet.

Did you buy a valve body from them or the kit they sell to add to your valve body?
The kit they sell doesn’t fix the solenoid switch valve it only fixes the end plugs.
It’s an okay kit they don’t make it and can be bought cheaper else where.
I had a customer bring me a trans to install from Nextgen that he had just received from them.
I tore it down first and found used burnt clutch’s in the low reverse drum.
Overdrive and underdrive clearances were way too loose.
I found worn pump gears and most of the valves in the pump and valve body failed vacuum test.
He paid 12k for that trans.

Damn, that sucks to hear about the transmission your customer bought.
I bought the valve body kit for my stock Valve body.
I haven't opened the box yet.
It sounds like I need to send it back and buy a Revmax valve body then.
