Damn. It was definitely the remote wire.

    Now I have no sound.

The amp is on, so that’s great news.

I’m gonna have to troubleshoot the sound issue now.

    That’s a tomorrow issue.

I’m dead tired, and I have a lot of work to do tomorrow.

Ok, let's take a step back and assess where you are right now.

When you asked about the green & white connectors, I thought that you would run the factory speakers off the new Pioneer HU temporarily.

When you get a chance, please list all the connections you have right now, and we'll see how we can help.

Ok, let's see if I can get this right without looking at it in the truck.

I currently have the C3 525 (with crossovers) installed in each door and the little speakers in the dash from JL.

On that note, I never did see any connections for those speakers in the wiring harness.

I only found the typical 8 wires for the doors.

I have an 8 channel amp installed, and it gets good power according to the light.

I have RCA Cables running from the Front L/R and the Rear L/R, and the sub is not connected to anything at the moment.

That will be for a separate amplifier.

I initially ran the RCA cables without Y connectors into Channels 1-4 to see if I could get some sound.

Then, I tried the Y connectors for all 8 channels using the diagram that the guy downtown drew up, but it is a fundamental drawing, so I am guessing that I am missing some detail.

I unplugged the speaker wires from the amp last night and left them because I don't want to fry something by having an incorrect connection.

The idea was to run all these speakers at 4 ohms.

I will copy and paste the link to the amp from JL.

I will also include a picture to help with any descriptions.

I should also note that my vehicle does have a factory Alpine amp.

    I disconnected it, though.

    Complete Audio System Replacement

So, upon further inspection, I found that speaker wires coming from the amp to the metra harness plug into the vehicle's harness (I already knew that just mentioned that for flow).

Following that, it goes to the stock amplifier, which has two plugs.

Which I am assuming is an in and an out.

What is suppose to be done with the stock amp?

I can’t find anything anywhere, and I’m pretty sure that is where my music signal is stopping at.

It’s the only place along the line that it could be.

I’ve seen the rest with my own eyes.

    Thoughts?

    Re: Complete Audio System Replacement

The main Maestro harness is designed to connect your aftermarket radio to the factory speaker system.

That is why it specifies how to connect the white and green connectors with or without the Alpine amp.

If you wired everything up as stated in the Maestro instructions, plug the harnesses back into the factory amp, and you should have tunes.

This is how I had had it in my last truck.

Now, since you are adding stand-alone amps and running RCA from the new radio to the amps, you need to find a way to connect the amp speaker outputs to the factory speakers.

Unless there is an adapter for this, you are best to run all new speaker wires to the doors and dash to connect the new speakers to the amp and completely cut out the Alpine amp altogether.

I plugged everything back in, but it looks like I have a lot more work cut out for me.

    All good.

    Thanks for the help, though.

I know where to start now.

From my understanding, the RCA cables from the front, rear, and sub output on the back of the head unit should send audio signals directly to whatever amp you plugin.

I believe the radio will send a signal to both the RCA outputs and the wires coming out of the harness for what would be normal speaker wires.

You are definitely going to have to run the speaker wire from the amp output to your speakers, whether you run a new wire or run nine wire back up to behind the head unit to utilize factory wiring.

I know that when i wired mine up, it doesn't have a stock amp; the green and white wire had to be a certain way for it to work.

I would guess that if you have an audio signal going to the amp, speaker wire outputs from the amp going to the factory harness, the stock amp would have to be corrupting the signal or something.

Maybe a simple bypass of the amp or just running a new wire would be what i would look at.

Also, I'm not familiar with your head unit, but make sure that it sends signals out of the RCA and not just the normal speaker wires.

One more thing, I'm not entirely sure whether or not you directly wired the speaker wires from the radio harness to the maestro harness.

I would leave the speaker wire from the back of the head unit alone and send only RCA cables to the amp and then take the speaker wire output from the amp and splice it into the factory speaker wire.

    Could you keep us updated?

I think since I’m not using the factory speakers, I have to bypass the amp.

I ordered a harness that does just that, or at least it’s supposed to.

This will allow me to throw the stock stuff back in and not do anything to the stock harness… allegedly, LOL.

    We shall see.

Got it to work. I used this diagram to figure it out. Plugged some bare wire into the factory harness just to see if I got anything and could not believe how good one door sounded without tuning or proper hookup. Amp was on min setting as well. Thanks for all the help, gents. When I get back tonight I can finish the wiring and move on to the next challenge.
