I replaced the front passenger caliper as it was stuck and holding a clamp on the front tire.

After I replaced that one, I needed to replace the rear passenger for the same issue. That was about 2 months ago.

These were brand new units from Dodge, not aftermarket.

Fast forward to last night.

Similar issue on the front passenger side.

I was able to get the caliper off.

I looked at the rotor and it looked all scored up.

I went and got a new rotor and pads.

I then grabbed my c-clamp and went to compress the caliper pistons.

They would not budge.

They are brand new so no way they could be frozen.

I tightened down the clamp a little, then loosened the bleeder screws and the pistons went right back in no problem.

The truck is a 2011 with 115k miles.

I find it very odd that I could not push the pistons back in.

Also, it seems to me that both calipers on the same side exhibited the same issue.

Is it possible that something in the ABS module is preventing the calibers from releasing pressure when I do not have my foot on the brakes?

That's the only this between the calipers and the brake cylinder.

Thoughts?
