    Losing Fuel Pressure After 1/4 Tank

    So two weeks ago I was pulling my camper to my next job site, and about an hour into my drive out of nowhere I lost all power and my fuel pressure dropped to anywhere 0.8 to 2.6.

    So I shut it off and tried started it up and it just cracked and wouldn't fire.

    I immediately changed the fuel filter and it didn't do anything so after cranking on it for 10 to 15 mins I got it to fire up so I limped it to a fuel station and put $20 in it and I immediately fixed the issue and now if it gets below 1/4 of a tank it does it even when I'm not towing.

    The truck still has the stock fuel system no FASS or anything like that it just has a Smarty SR tuner and it's never been turned above 6.

    Everywhere I've looked said the injection pump is going out pls help.

    Sounds like pump or FCA could be acting up.

    How many miles?

    FCA= Fuel Control Actuator which is on the backside of the CP3 (toward engine bay).

    To test it you can start the truck and unplug the connector to it.

    Once unplugged it should peg your rail pressure (26k+) and sound like a 12v knocking almost.

    If you decided to test do not leave it unplugged too long- I would unplug and listen for 3-6 seconds and the replug and check edge for highest rp hit.

    It is really simple and something you can do in 5 mins or less total.

    I'll try that tomorrow before I go into work if it doesn't is the FCA replaceable or just a whole new lift pump?

    Yes, the FCA just bolts on the side of the high pressure fuel injection pump. Approximate price $150

    Could it possibly be something in the bottom of my fuel tank? I have a transfer tank in my pickup that I fill up out of regularly..
