There's a couple, but this one is the most popular

By closing it in, it prebents the hot air from being sucked from the top. That and it looks cool.. . LOL

You got any other supporting mods? I was talking to a high horsepower engine guru. He said Cai's are almost pointless for what you pay for them. The stock box gets great flow usually and was designed to keep heat to a minimum. That's why I bought other things right now instead of an intake and a intake horn. Bought a ton of other goodies but mine was bone stock. So

well believe what you want but it has been proven the the cia's out flow the stockers
and I have has issues with the stock ones on both my trucks
worst was the 05 and the filter collapsing and letting some extras by

On stock applications it was collapsing? And if it was collapsing or you have to keep resetting that little pressure gauge then I agree you need a different air set up. But mines all stock and that little pressure gauge hasn't moved. I figured spend a tad more wiser on stuff and hold off on the intake. Not saying I'm gunna run the stock forever. I just meant if his was stock and wanted to buy a new part for 2-300$ there's some other great options as well. It took me forever to figure out what to spend on. Let me mention that guru has a custom ram air up into his stock box probably pushing a TON more air than he'll ever need.
