I dealt with this internal battle as well.

I got an 18' with 11k on it and did the dirty deed to her around 21k. I don't regret it.

I have met so many guys that have done just because they are facing a 5k plus bill to fix emissions equipment that has failed and left them stranded.

You could wait until the warranty is up but then how much damage have you done already, how much life has been drained from the truck running that crap on it?

I thought of doing it as preventive measures to mitigate possible failures in the future.

Plus, most issues you might face after the dirty deed is done, that aren't covered by warranty, can be easily diagnosed and fixed with the help of the great community we have here.

I feel confident in my choice.

I also think it makes for a better truck owner.

For me personally it has made me dive even further down in my pursuit for knowledge and know how of how my rig runs and performs.

Either way you go, a lot of people here have your back, so rest assured.
