I recently purchased a 33' 8900lb 5th wheel Toy Hauler. My 2007 2500 4X4 Quad Cab short bed with a 5.9 pulls it okay but I feel like it's too light and short a truck on the road and mountains for this big heavy long trailer.
I'm now in the market for 2007 to about 2013 model 3500 long bed fleet side or dually (short or long bed) to better handle this trailer.
I REALLY NEED some real life advice on what's the best year Cummins, especially in a used model, and should I go 5.9 or 6.7? Obviously the 6.7 has more HP, but is it better than the 5.9? What model years should I avoid? What should I keep an eye out for? I'd really like to avoid lots of modifications if possible, and not opposed to a tuner though, but have yet to purchase one.
