I'm ordering my 5" turbo back tomorrow. Now if I get it w/o the muffler will I have a lot of cab noise or drone? I'm thinking get the muffler but the more I read the more I see people pulling them off. HELP. lmao...

I had bad drone in mine. Putting a flex pipe after the downpipe helped a lot. Then I installed 100mil sound deadening mat from floor to ceiling. That helped more. The I added a tune by Ray which oddly helped even more. But, the drone didn't bother me. It was more of a passenger complaint.

It seems that most of my customers come back and order a muffler if they tow alot. If you don't tow alot you it shouldn't bother you as much as it will the passenger like stated LOL.

I only have drone when I tow, but doesn't bother me. Wife and I made a 10 hr round trip last weekend, she never complained once.

My 09 has a 5" axle dump. All joints welded

With straight the drone was pretty bad but not unbearable. The bigger issue was a strange vibration. Mainly at lower speeds city driving. Using the stock mount along with another I welded for the turn down

I put a turbine in and the drone was reduced along with the vibration going away

Others have had similar issues/complaints about the vibration. Some have found it was possibly hitting somewhere others unknown. Mine who knows but the muffler got rid of it. I'll find out soon if I have a vibration or not going back down to a straight 4"

I get some strange vibrations on the 5" down pipe I can't trac down. I may go back to the stock down pipe and 5" from there back. Mine has a mbrp muffler. Mild drone when towing. The 5" def sounds better.
