    Lope at idle

Idle lope when cold, does no matter on outside temperature, once the coolant is warmed up, it stops. 2001 Dodge with cold air intake and exhaust otherwise stock. It lopes than quits and keeps cycling like that very quickly, maybe 5-10 seconds it changes back and forth. Could there be something wrong with the grid heater? Thanks in advance

Update, it still lopes all the time at idle, even when the engine is ran and coolant is up to temperature.

I disconnected the grid heater at the battery and the loop went away, it was cycling on and off even in 80 degree weather. What should I look at for possible problems. 2001 with cold air intake and after market free flow exhaust
