Hard Wiring AMP Running Board System?

Hey guys, I'm just going to throw this in here since I see a lot of you having problems with AMP steps.

Ram now offers OEM power steps for these trucks. They are priced about the same as AMP, and they are built for our trucks specifically, and designed for the factory electrical system. And looking at the design, these are probably significantly stronger than the AMP design. They do not feature the lighting that the AMPs have though, but that can be easily added.

$1500 MSRP direct from Mopar, $1300ish from all other retailers.

EDIT: Heres the install instructions. These are TRULY plug and play as they utilize the OE PDC ports & plugs.

Made one phone call to amp and have a new controller on the way. Supposedly my controller is outdated and can only be used as plug n play. We will see soon.

Did you get it figured out?

I have my amp steps still in the box in the garage with MM3 by DRD on the way and wondering if I want to try and hard wire AMP steps or just return them.

    Sure did.

They sent me the newer updated controller and everything works great again.

My only advice is if you are having any issues do not bother emailing. Call them. I went back and forth with about 8-10 emails over 3 days and got nowhere.

5 minutes on the phone and had a new controller shipped and tracking info sent.

    Where is the wiring diagram?

My steps are in the box still and I’m wondering if I want to go through with this.

So the MM3 is taking the port, how do I hard wire the AMP?

I did a Google search on it but only came up with installation.

    Don't Stress
Did you ever get this resolved?

I know this is an older post but I hardwired mine.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

AMP Research Power Step XL, MM3 w/DRD Tunes, S&B CAI, 22" American Truxx wheels, 37" Amp Terrain Attack tires, lift (unknown brand). Future mods include 5" turbo back Flo-Pro w/o muffler and possibly ARB on board air compressor with truck horns and air bags.
