    The 48 happens to be a good trans. It just doesn't have enough gears

    Think about what you have and what you could be getting. I thought getting my low milage 03 was going to be a good deal. Not

    True but with bigger power it's more drivable and the driver can actually tell when it shifts. A lot of people are doing this swap and liking it way better than the 68.

    I agree. I'd love to have a manual. But at my age and @AnOldBiker age, our old bones don't like it. That and I live in suburban NJ with a light at every other corner and a Honda with a big muffler who thinks he's tougher than your Ram. LOL

    I bought a 15 tradesman with a 68. Drove a friends truck with a G56. Sold the 15 and bought a couple 16 with a G56. I LOVE it. Recently put a Valair ceramic DD in it. What a difference that made!.

    I like knowing if I need to hold a gear it will stay and not up shift bog down then down shift and repeat.

    I traded a 68 for a G56 and couldn't be happier. The Auto was good but I wanted a manual. The only regret was getting the auto instead of the manual first.
