    Swapping Motor

Well I finally got my new motor done and ready to drop into my truck to replace my horribly leaky 53 block. It's my daily and only vehicle and I'd like to know if anyone out there can give me an estimated time that it'd take to pull one, throw some (not many they're all small things) parts to the new motor and drop it back in. For reference it's an 01 24v. Anything is appreciated as always. Thanks!

I haven't done this on a diesel, only on a gass. I depends on how many helping and parts needed while doing it. On a gasser by myself .. took 1 1/2 days. Needed to go for parts twice and almost no sleep.

If you and a couple buddies are knowledgable it can be done in a weekend. If you by chance haven't done this before and are taking your time it can very well take a few days. As long as you don't rush it it won't be too bad at all. Especially if take your time and do a print out of others step by step process. Might have to throw some of them together but hey it works LOL!

Get everything laid out. All the proper equipment and tools you need or think you'll need

By yourself or with a little help you'll probably have about 15-20 hours in it

You are going to have to have plenty of tools both standard and metric wrenches and sockets and air tools will help the process

How much time is a bit difficult to estimate. I did it once on my first truck. But it was a gasser.only help i got was lifting the hood of friends often disappear when you need help. I used about 5 days alone

Yup about 2 days with a pair of skilled and semi skilled hands. No Beer, lots of Pepsi and coffee and someone to bring the snacks.

Anybody near Kansas that can give this guy a hand?

Bar b q. Just kidding. No i got it done. Was pretty frustraded because i had to do this alone. I had to take tons of pictures so i could put it together again. Fun to watch now. But this project is the reason why i can do most of the mechanical stuff on my truck today. I got alot more self confidence.
