    08 3500 hd

    Just bought an 08 3500 HD 65 thousand miles, never owned a truck this new always first and second gens , she starts out idling at about 8,000 RPMs and then she starts to increase idle to thousand rpm and develops a whistle. ?

    Not that I know of nothing visible it was an old power company truck , only had it about 3 days haven't had a chance to go over everything yet

    What are the temps outside? It sounds like it is going high idle mode. The whistle you here is the VGT turbo closing up to allow the engine to warm quicker.

    We're in the 60s and 70s and it does seem to heat the engine up quite quick it'll idle high like that for a while and then it will stop and drop back down to lower RPMs

    Yep, that's it then. Strange that it is coming in at such a high temp though. I've heard that the C&C trucks have features that the regular hd trucks don't. Makes me wonder if they have a setting to kick it on early.
