    Turning turbo outlet

I'm installing a 5 inch flo pro system on my truck and the down pipe is touching the frame a little. Can the turbo outlet elbow be turned a little?

Might be best to go to your signature and put your year, model, add-ons and such so we know what you have.

Take the exhaust back a part. Install the downpipe first. Position it so that it doesn't hit the frame. Leave it slightly loose for a little wiggle room and install the rest of the exhaust. The turbo outlet can be turned but I've never had to see it done. Most often the downpipe is just out of position.

Now on a 5 inch system clearance will be tight and I've seen cases where the downpipe will hit the frame when the engine moves under torque. If this is the case, mark the spot where the downpipe rubs, remove it, and dimple the pipe with a hammer for added clearance. Then reinstall. Nothing wrong with hammering a pipe for clearance and it has to be done from time to time.

    Re: Turning turbo outlet

That's how I installed it (down pipe first) just like you are saying. The best I can get it there is maybe .030" clearance to the frame. I'm getting a bad vibration that comes thru the truck once in awhile. Probably hitting the frame then. Does anyone make a 5" down pipe with a flex joint like the factory down pipe? To turn the turbo outlet do I just loosen the clamp or is there more to it? Thanks
