I used sealed for a few of my vehicles because I wanted sound quality. Most were ported and extremely loud and expensive. I competed for 15 years

With your displacement you're at .229 cu ft per sub if the enclosure specs are correct of the site

Just a suggestion. Great subs. I had 24 of the 1st series I'd
Don't let the 8" size fool you

I'm seeing .3 non the less LOL I'm stuffing with 2 lbs per unit. And it's a crew cab. Also a correction on the sub. It's a jl 12w1v3-4. Not sure if that changes my setup.

The .229 is the .3 cu ft enclosure - the displacement of the sub of .071 cu ft

Give it a try with what you've got. You may have to do it a couple times. Add or remove some. If there's to little or not enough since the enclosure isn't what JL calls for it is going to be a little tricky since it's quite a bit smaller

One big thing. The gain on your amp. Do not crank it up to get it loud like you want. You shouldn't turn it past about 1/4 or 3/8 on that amp
If you crank it you'll have a lot of distortion and kill your coils in the subs

You can use the polyfill in the bottom it won't hurt the subs. Set it in kind of fluffy don't pack it in

My gain is set about there! I'll let ya know in a bit. As far as the wiring, I'm good with straight wiring, sub to amp?

    Subs + to +
    - to -
You'll only get 2ohm load. So won't get full power from the amp. That's part of the problem. They're lower power subs so getting 150 or so each isn't bad
