I am installing my BD intercooler which has a 3.5" inlet. The boost tube will be 3.5", So I have to go straight in. Not reduce it.
The stock Intercooler inlet is 3"

Yes my bd intercooler is the same but the turbo goes to 3".
so you have the wrong boot to connect to the BD. That looks like a 3 to 3.5" on both ends

I think you'll find the factory tube to be 2 1/2 and the cold side 3"
