Belt squeal at idle and while driving

    Hey everyone,

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section but this issue just came about recently. I put a new belt on my truck over the summer and now that the weather has changed here I've been getting a belt squeal at idle and also while I am driving. It randomly happens and then it goes away. I checked the belt and that's fine I also checked the tensioner and that seems fine as well, truck runs and drives fine. I've looked on a few other forums but I haven't come across anyone having similar problems. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

    Thanks

It's either the belt is old and glazed or the tensioner as mentioned above. Change both at the same time.

There's a loop guide in the how to section

    Good Point

Also, run your fingers along the bottom of the water pump shaft housing. Feel for the vent hole and see if it's wet. It points straight down. If it is, the seals is starting to fail and it's time.
