Yes, pressure needs to be measure between the fuel filter and the injection pump. You are checking supply side pressure to the CP3.

Tim is referring to the low side. It is very critical to have pressure there. The CP3 depends on the fuel as a lubricant as well as being able to maintain and fulfill the injector demand. I don't see a FASS in your mod list. ******Polaraco stands with arms crossed, stern look, tapping his foot******* LOL

So how do I check the pressure between the CP3 and fuel filter? Never done it.

Correct me if I'm wrong ... and you will ....
but if the lift pump is going out .. it should be showing this at any speed.

He has an issue after he's ran her for a while, like and hour or two at highway speeds.

Not sure, I've checked before and I believe it's the pump that's on the side of the motor where the filter is but I really don't know

According to the factory service manual for the ram 2003, it's in the tank. Check #14 on the attached page.

I'm far from a professional, but if the lift pump that supplies the fuel is phasing out, it would seem that it would be at any speed, highway or street, loaded or empty. And not fine except at highways speeds after one to two hours of running. Yes, I suggest checking pressure and flow of the lift pump, but also if there is possible restriction of the flow. Anywhere in the system. Then to the mechanical portion of the engine.

Why ... I remember him saying when its running on the street or in the first hour or two on the highway, its running good .... right ?

But I'm just guessing since I don't have it here in front of me. (Hey .. I'm old .. work with this )

Sorry for being inactive, but found out it was my lift pump on it's way out. Still had the pump on the block. I ordered a fass direct replacement from alligator performance

Correction, very late production 03's were shipped in the tank. It could be internal or external. My 03 is a january truck and it was external. The dealers also retrofit the the internals back than at no charge.
