I very much agree with @Polaraco ... (Did I actually say that ???) But metals are the BIG thing to look for. The mud is just the clutch material slowly be worn due to use. As often as you been changing the fluid, it should be spotless inside, or never used. Go for it ... she'll love the use.

As for the large pans and change out mileage, I got one on my 'ole gal and we change @ the 50k mark. Been checking the oil evertime I open the hood, and it still looks and smells like when I put it in. So 50k is fine. Like @Polaraco said, if it smells like it's starting to burn, time to change it.

Excuse me, I need to check into medical ... I actually agree with that 'ole man ldman @Polaraco .......... TWICE ?????

I have trans Tuning from Ray and I have an Ultra. I haven't had any issues though. What are you experiencing? Do you have an Aisin?

Stick with Mopar ATF +4, i know its a dealer item, but sometime its a little cheaper than other AFT+4. I got it from my local dealer for about 7 bucks a quart..dont use amsoil, or purple...bad news for the 68

Spin-on filter upgraded?? What y'all talking about? I'm getting ready to install my Mag-Hytec pan this weekend and will be doing filters as well.

Revmax has a spin on filter upgrade screw for the trans instead of the plastic one that comes with the OEM filter. Here is the link:
