Anyone running LT285/75R17E in a 2010-2012 factory rims?

I'm looking at the Toyo Open Country AT II's in a LT285/75R17 121S 10/E on my original 2012 rims (17" X 8.0") and was wondering if anyone was running this tire or at least this size? I'd like to know if there are any issues or advantages? Tire life span and how this size stands up to towing would be nice to know too.

If the OEM size is still the same as on the 09 that's only a slight bump up from the 265/70

I had 285/70 on my 09 and just switched them out to 315/70 still on the factory rim

Depending on what gear you have it can help some. It can bring your RPM range down in high gear on the highway. If you don't have the right gear though you'll end up either buying tires again smaller or regearing the truck to help with larger tires
The 285/70 will not be an issue though it's a middle of the road tire that any gear holds fine

Larger tires if you're doing mostly highway driving without stop/go or in town. Will actually help mileage some. Can't expect a huge tire that weighs 100+ pounds like a 44" bogger to help mileage though

The OEM tire is an LT265/70R17, I know I can run the 285/70R 17, with no issues it's only a 3% change, but I'm looking at the 285/75R 17 which is a 7% change. I'm running 3.73 gears, I would think that should be OK considering the new trucks are coming with 3.43 gears?

I read wrong sorry. No you won't try have any issues at all. Approx 2" height and and 1" width

I'm about 4" taller and 2" wider on stock
3.73 gears no issues at all

Thanks that was what I was looking for....I knew the width would be OK just not sure about the diameter at full steering lock. According to tire comparator the 265/70 is 31.6" diameter and 10.4" wide and the 285/75 is a 33.8" diameter and 11.2" wide. So if your tires are OK these should be fine.
Do you have an opinion on the Toyo Open Country AT II's?

I run the 285/75/17 toyo at2. Everything fits and sits the truck up more. Tires wear great, haven't had one problem. Great traction all around. Snow, mud, rain, dry all good. They tow good, not to noisy. I ran em before a leveling kit and never had a run issue.

I'm running 305/70 Nitto Terra Grapplers on factory polished rims & 3.73 gears. Same height as 285/75 just a bit wider. Have 40k miles so far and should easily get another 10k before I hit the wear bars.
