Is there a filter under the Cummins valve cover?

Just ran accross something on the net and it was talking about a filter that is under the plastis cover in the top of the head. If this is true how often are you supose to change it?

2003 0n up had a crankcase filter. It eliminated the drip tube. Get them from Cummins. Half the price of the dealer. takes about 10 minutes on a 6.7

I forget the exact mileage, somewhere around 50K their supposed to be changed

    LOL

Try Geno's Garage. They have allot of cummins parts.

Not sure about 5.9's, but the 6.7 has a Delta P system. I did mine at 50K and it wasn't even close to be needing to be replaced

I did right after your last post on here. $79 plus shipping. They also said Mopar says every 67,000 miles but you can also wait for the overhead councile to tell you.

Shop around. See if RockAuto has them. If they do then you can pick them up local.

The filters in the 6.7s will go a lot longer once the truck is deleted since the engine hardly makes any carbon once it is "fixed"...unless you run insane fueling. LOL
