I’ve got a 18 ram 2500 and lost the trans at 40k miles.
Stock gears 3:42’s with 37’s toyo’s.
Now I had a trans built to the top and currently having the truck geared to 4:10’s.

I had 3.42 from the factory and 37" tires.
I don't tow but you could tell it was on the edge of lugging the engine.
I recently went to 4.88 gears and 40" tires and it feels perfect like it should from the factory.

With 4.88 I might be inclined to ask if ya got a top speed of about 50 mph at 2500 rpm.
I take it the tire width is enough to compensate for the wheels turning that much slower?
Good stuff.... Truckers bring it
I think I'm turning 1800rpm at 70mph if I remember correctly?
Truck is torn apart this week for some new mods but Ill verify that again in a few days.

Had 35s on 3.42s with a 120hp tune; my transmission was not a fan.
Ended up getting 6th gear shudder after awhile.
If you're going to be towing/hauling; I'd recommend sticking with a lower power level tune.
I have 37s on 3.73s in my 2019 without issue, but the 5th gens 68RFE has upgraded planetary sets in 5th and 6th that make a huge difference.

The Cummins won't care, but towing with oversize tires and stock gearing and added power the transmission is not going to like that long term.
I would and do keep mine at the lowest power setting.
