Stack Mounting / Support / Vibration Dampening?

Hey guys, I was just curious how the guys with stacks were mounted and if anyone was running with a flex section or how they were keeping the exhaust vibration down.

My bed is bolted to the top of the bed with a clamp, and at times, it rattles some parts of the bed, so I was looking to try to lessen or get rid of that.

Please post comments and pics if you can.

    Thanks.

Removed the 5” tailpipe exhaust and used the extra straight pipe for a stack.

Now to purchase a rain cap tapper.

Mine are 90'd down and wrapped to my straight pipe on the bed.

I have a y pipe sitting on stands I had made, so there not sitting right on the bed.

I have a header wrap around the pipe clamped to the stands, then got some stack clamps from mack and mounted them to the back bed caps with header wrap around that has no vibration.

Then I made a checker plate stack guard to cover the ypipe looks so sick not sure if I have pics up anywhere here with the process, but I could post some.

With the 5" straight pipe out the back, there was a drone between appx1900-2150rpm.

Now with bed stack, the drone is between appx 2100-2300.

I usually do not want to shift until I hit the drone RPMs.

The truck feels freer with the higher rpm drone.

I'm glad the drone changed to a higher rpm bc my typical driving speed is around 1800-2k rpm.

A side note is that whenever someone says the bed stack is ridiculous, I tell them that it is cool and appreciate the opinion.

I still have the rain cap tapper to install, Hehe.

For me, the tapper is my Bling.

Maybe I should have it gold-plated, hahaha. :rolf:

Whenever someone tells me my stacks are ridiculous, I also tell them to their face.

LOL, it is my truck bought and paid for, and I do what I want

The stack is level with the cab and angled back a couple of degrees.

No cab discoloration is noted from the exhaust, with the tapper and distance from the cab.
