Has anyone had any luck match painting or powder coating their chrome bumpers, grille, etc?? I've sprayed bed liner over scuffed chrome bumpers in the past which held up great but wanting to color match my '13 2500.

2014 3500 (DRW) 68RFE 3:73s . mirror light mod. 20% tint front 5% tint on rear. cattleman front bumper,running boards and headache rack. puddle light mod with blue leds. RGB lights in footwells and grill. Mostly debadged. 52" light bar and a 20" on the bumper. Smoked tail,cab and side marker lights. Black bezel headlights. Led lights where possible. 37 trail Graps. 2.5 inch leveling kit. Steering box brace. Dual steering stabilizers. MM3 and "WARPED" by Double R Diesel!
A friend of mine just had his done but had the chrome stripped first and them painted looks good. I am about to have mine painted but they are already black so no chrome to worry about.

It won't hold on unprepped chrome. Just wondering what others did to to scuff or strip the chrome
I think a flap disk on a grinder to start. If there are deep scratches you would have to correct that. Then a self etching primer. Sandable if you can find that combo. Sand/wet sand. Paint/clear until happy

I did some chrome wheels with a scuff pad and 220 grit paper, self etching primer and paint. Lasted about a year, but started chipping off. Currently I am stripping the paint off with a wire wheel on my grinder, flap disks and other assorted sanding and grinding tools. Plan is to sand with 80 grit, spray epoxy primer and then paint. Still getting all the old paint off. Hope to squirt some paint in the next week
