All they do is move the wires around. I always tape a paper to the wheel that says "do not flash, will brick PCM".

I don't know about your airbag recall, but on my 2015 they DO need the obd port. No worries though cuz it's a different module. No reason to go back to stock as long as they are not messing with tuning. Even if they did all you'd have to do is retune. Dealers are nerve racking LOL, but all turned out well for me.
