RaceME Ultra With Warp Tuning: Initial Thoughts And Comments

Got my Warp tuning from Ray on Saturday and I've had a chance to use it over the weekend. Thoroughly impressed is an understatement. He takes good product and makes it an exceptional product. One question...

What did Ray do with my clunky 68RFE and harsh exhaust breaking?!?

Transmission tuning is spot on with Warp. I feel like this area gets the "Most Improved" award. Shifting feels more precise. The truck shifts exactly when it should, every time. Not once did I cringe because the truck made an incorrect or harsh feeling shift like I would get with the box tuning. I was really curious if I would get a good "bang for my buck" with this part. In my mind I was concerned with how much improvement a custom tuned transmission was vs. a box tuned transmission.

Exhaust Break function is a very close second to the Transmission Tuning. No longer do I wait for a harsh let off from the Exhaust Break when coming to a stop hooked up to trailer. This was the area I was most displeased with on the box tunes. I'm sure they programmed it this way for a reason, but it was way too aggressive in my opinion and not very comfortable when towing. Ray got it right with they way he's got this tuned.

Engine tuning is amazing as well. Seems like the truck is quieter, more consistent, and smoother. Cold start-ups/initial time putting the truck into gear don't have the "lope" anymore. Power delivery seems much more predictable and consistent. I wasn't sure what I'd think of the whistle tune, thought it sounded neat on Ray's videos, but wasn't sure what it'd be like on my truck. Glad I got it. I really like the sound in person.

I did have one little hiccup this morning. Rolled into the throttle, truck took off, but fell on it's face up in the higher RPM range. I had this same problem with the box tunes on the 60hp level. I'm going to see if I can reproduce that. May have been a fluke. We shall see.

Overall, I am one happy customer. Thanks a ton @Double R Diesel

Anyone who wants something more with their RaceME Ultra. Even if you think the box tunes are fine. Just contact Ray and get some Warp tuning going on. You'll be impressed.

Can you elaborate more on the transmission tuning? I just purchased the trans tune from Ray and will be flashing it to the ECM tomorrow morning. Just wanted to see what the one week update was from you after doing some driving. I'm hoping it's going to reduce the sloppy shifts and put the truck in the correct gear so it doesn't bog all the time like they do stock.

The transmission is much more precise. Those sloppy shifts you speak of are gone. I can feel the TC lock up a lot faster. Less throttle input needed to get a downshift.

2016 is what I had back then.

I've got a 2022 now that is untuned.
