It's not bat at all. Opening them up takes a little patience but it's not really that hard at all.

I want to do this when the weather gets warmer. Never been afraid to try new things, but I can get a new set of lights if all goes horribly wrong

I bought a cheap set off eBay. Opened them, added projectors etc... kept the stock quads in case something went wrong and need to go back. I learned a lot doing the first set. Really thingies about doing my quads now...

It really isn't bad. Patience is the key! May take a few heat cycles to get them open. Make sure and prep the bezel so the paint will stick. Like others you can buy a cheap set off eBay some are already black. That way you can save the oem if there is an issue.

Thanks for the info guys sounds like best bet is order a set of eBay as the stock ones are a little pricey to replace.

do those projectors make a difference? I know I am surprised how dim the factory lights seem to be.

Man, I cannot even describe the difference. No way could I go back to stock lights again. HIDs in projectors is the only way for me.
