    4th Gen: Possibly a Turbo Issue?

    My 2012 RAM 6.7 is acting like the exhaust is plugged intermittently.

    It's been deleted so no DPF issues, but when it acts up sounds like engine brake is on and pours black smoke.

    No codes.

    Truck was deleted both DPF and egr in October.... No issues till now

    Pretty sure that code has to do with the turbo vanes hanging up. Probably needs to be cleaned

    Deleting does not get rid of the variable geometry turbo. It also functions as your exhaust brake

    I'm sure the deletes help but I doubt they totally prevent it. I've cleaned plenty of 6.0 powerstroke turbos and they didn't have DPF systems.

    Is the egr deleted or just unplugged?
    Vanes could very well be hung closed. May need a good cleaning and inspection!
    What programmer do you have?
