    lighting issue

I got a 1997 dodge ram 2500 4x4 with a lighting issue, headlights and running lights work great. but overnight it decided to shut my turn signal lights off and my brake lights off. What can I check to fix it myself I already replaced the fuses for turn signals. Which dirrection should I go on finding a solution to this issue?

Get a test light with a sharp point.

Trace the wiring back and look for bulging in the harness. Bend it every few inches back and forth to find any breaks. Have the flashers on and up against something to see a reflection.

There's a plug under the drivers side right behind the fender well. Make sure it's not corroded.

Use a test light and see if you have power at the lights. If there is, reground the bed with a new wire. twice.

If the truck has a trailer package, use a probe and see if that is working.

If if it, wash it with some vinegar and a paint brush. Rinse with some fantastic or spray nine and some water. Both ends. Put some vasoline or dielectric grease on and reconnect.

    That's a start

Thank you, are there any relays in there that may possibly have something to do with both the turn and brake lights not working?

I neglected to mention a turn signal switch too. The tail lights are working but not the stop/turn Duh.

Check the wiring anyway, but the turn sig switch is an excellent bet. Need to check that at the column.

No relays that I can think of

Al, the fronts are working. The stop lights go through the turn sig switch on that

I got all running lights so the bulbs either all split that second wire or there is just something with the turn signals (flashers as well) and brake lights.
