Question Brand new Cummins owner need links please

Quick question, I'm trying to avoid making a new thread on a bunch of questions that have already been posted so that's what this link is about. I just bought my very first 2003 Ram and want to take the best care of it, so if possible could you guys post me some links on this thread as far as oil filters to use, best oil to use (I'm a valvoline fan), fuel filter to use, adding an additional fuel filter, transfer case and transmission fluid to use and how often to change these fluids. Etc etc etc.
im just trying to take the best care possible of my beauty.

I guess that was my que.

Fleet guard fikters and Rotella T5 or T6. There is also Amsoil stuff, which I am surprised igotacummins didn't bring up. As an engineer, I can't justify the cost of it. Can't go wrong with a Fleetguard, Cummins owns the company.

Since I own an 03 also, I can help you

Ok i have ran across my first issue. my truck dies while driving down the highway, noticed that my lights went dim and the gauge dropped to 8. went to the part store and they told me one of my batteries were bad. replaced the battery and truck drove good for bout a week and i noticed that my gauge dropped back down to 8. this time i bought an altenator and everything was back good. got down the road about 20 minutes later and noticed that my gauge drops back down to 8 AGAIN. this time i replace the altenator with another altenator the same night and the problem happens again. so i took the truck on to the house but before i got home i stopped back by the part store and bought a second battery, now that makes it 2 new batteries. so far so good, I'm just hoping that the second battery not being replaced was my problem... anyone have any ideas or past experience with this???

I have always replaced batteries in pairs, especially if they are older batteries. If problems persist you need to start checking grounds. But I am betting replacing the second battery will take care of it.
