Hi everybody in new to Cummins me this forum my name is Derek I just purchased a 05 2500 Ram for only $6000 and now I'm shopping for parts I I knew it needed work that's why the price was so cheap so if anybody out there's got some extra parts they want to send my way I will gladly take them ha ha. If anyone has some in sight here is what I know so far smokes out drafttube sounds like it's only a 5 cyl still has lots of power but maybe not "also think it may have bigger injector tips guy at work has a cummins said the numbers are completely different " I've been researching and seem to have found that an injector could have caused this problem I tried to do a compression test but we didn't have the right adaptor " got one on order" so I searched you tube and that's where I learned that it's most likely a burnt piston really burnt the old guy said it just started smoking but who knows .
