Okay guys so I am hearing a popping noise coming from my engine bay. It is more noticeable on the passenger side near the turbo but can hear it on the drivers side also. Mainly at idle or when it is cold out. Any ideas.

Hopefully you can hear it. It's not loud but more of a high pitched. You can hear it more in the exhaust. Could it be the cat?

What does it do with throttle does it go away does it get louder more frequent does the noise follow engine rpm? Any drivability issues such as loss of power. More smoke. Worse fuel economy. Did t happen over time or over night. Have you done anything recently to the truck. I'm not 100% sure but I'm almost positive 2nd gens did not have cars only mufflers. At least my 1995 and my 01 didn't come factory with cats.

ARMY! What Year? Does it have an after market exhaust?
Exhaust manifold bolts are known to loosen up ion some year 24V
