HA! Yea, CAMS was the beginning for it all, I learned quite a bit with mainframes and programming. I was stationed at Langley, AFB and we were the lead base at that time for it, did several deployments for other bases. Spent a lot of time at Gunter where the engineers and programmers were.
Then I got tasked to write the 3/5/7 level courses at Chanute. Closed that base and course, moved it to Sheppard where I stood everything back up and then 20 months later I hung up the spurs!!! Had a blast!
Now IMIS, keep the tradition going my friend!!!
Aircraft electrical and enviro systems on the F-15, C-17 and U-2.
Served 6 years. Now an electrician for Dow SRO.
Really cool they made a place for us to connect!
Started in 1984 as a Crew Chief until 1988 when Rivet workforce kicked in (hydraulics, engines, crew chief merger), 28 years, T-37s and then F-16s, final 2 years at the Pentagon. Bases, Williams (closed), Torrejon, SP, (closed), Luke, Sheppard, Kunsan, Hill, Beni Suef Egypt, Hill again, Spangdahlem, Luke Again, USAF Pentagon. Awesome ride!
Retired Air Force, 25.7 years, TDY's and deployments out the wazoo. Started out as Crew Chief, ( flying Chrew Chief)then expedited, then Pro Sup, Section Chief, Flt Chief. Worked on E-3A/B, / C, KC, EC 135 A, B, C, E / B-52, B1, aircraft. ABDR trained on all these aircraft.
I really enjoyed my career in AF. Made a lot of friends.
Would of done it again, back then if I had to do it over again.
