I know nothing about Diesel tuning so I will ask. Does the pilot injection happen at lower rpm or all through wot? If so, is that why the 5.9's can get better fuel milage?

The pilot injection from what I understand is the injection that quiets the motor down but I'm sure there is more to it than that but I always have better fuel mileage in the 12v tune compared to some of the others but that may be because I like the slow take off LOL

Yes I believe pilot runs throughout in some way or form to keep the noise down unless removed.
