    Are these braces pretty necessary? I've been told by a couple people I should get one for my 12 as I plow with it.

    I know on the 3rd gens big yes. 4th gens, really don't know but it's probably a good idea since you added weight and stress up front

    I don't know if the factory beefed up the frame in the 4th gens. But it's probably a good idea for plowing. There's allot of weight and stresses added to the frame with a plow. It can't hurt.
