Upper glove box area use in 3rd gen

Alright. My problem is I work out of my truck for 12 hrs a day so I get to looking, and thinking, and well next thing you know I have ideas LOL.
So my 3rd gen (09 2500 qcsb) has the standard under dash glovebox. But if memory serves there's a pretty good empty space in the front of the dash between the top of the glove box and airbag. My thoughts are to either find a way to mount my CB in there so that the face/controls are sticking out and accessible, or just flat out finding a way to fit the upper glove box out of a 4th gen. Thoughts? Anyone know of someone or even seen a write up of someone that has done anything similar? Mainly just looking to see if it's been done before to maybe get some ideas or pointers before I decide if I wanna tackle it or not.
