Amsoil HD 3000 5/30

Just wondering if anyone has tried Amsoil HD 3000 5/30 in their 1st gen. trucks? Read a report on it from a very well qualified chemical engineer. I use Valvoline Premium Blue 15/40 and Donaldson ELF 7349 oil filters with no problems, but, just thought it may offer better protection. This report ranked it as the best diesel oil on the market. It was not sponsored or paid for by Amsoil but the 5/30 seems a bit light. Thanks for any input. Durb747.
