Dead Pedal / Limpish Mode On Cold Start?

I have a 2019 RAM 6.7L non-Aisin, deleted with EZ Lynk/Optimal Welding tunes, 5 in exhaust and intake, everything else is stock.

The truck had been deleted for five plus years with no issues.

Lately, when I start it up and start driving, I have a dead pedal, and the truck won't go over 10ish mph and is blowing black smoke.

After about a mile, when I leave my neighborhood, it goes away and is normal.

As the weather is getting colder, it's worse.

I will let it warm up 10 plus minutes I live in Southern az so its not cold yet) and it still does it.

I also noticed when idling from a cold start, the exhaust tone changes from a whistle to a deep tone.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have about 110k on the truck so far.

    Codes?

Maybe a turbo actuator, especially if you're hearing a change in exhaust tone.

    No codes.

It's just strange because it won't accelerate or change RPMS over maybe 1000.

Then, out of nowhere, it stops and drives normally.

How can I check the turbo actuator?

Monitor VGT actual vs desired to check the turbo actuator.

Also monitor fuel rail pressure, actual vs desired.

Not familiar with the EZ Link platform, but if you have the AutoAgent / tuning+monitoring hardware, you can monitor the PIDs.

If not, then you will need a capable scan tool or software to monitor the PIDs and graph the results.

Thank you, I just left town, I will do it when I get back.

I do have the auto agent for monitoring.

See attached screenshots from a cold start and while driving.

The truck didn't have a dead pedal as long today, but it was cutting in and out an alot when driving through the neighborhood, cold.

I'm assuming this means my turbo actuator is bad.

The very last screenshot is once fully warmed up.

Looks like the turbo VGT vanes are sticking or intermittent trouble with the turbo actuator.

You will need to verify the turbo vanes are moving freely from stop to stop prior to replacing the actuator.

Thank you, how do I check that?

I was debating replacing the turbo and actuator?

Do I still need to verify the vanes if im going to replace the turbo as well?
