    PCM Odometer?

I think I may have been screwed on my current truck, so I wanted to see if there is a history of known odometer issues with these trucks.

    I have a 2011 6.7L that has 270k on the cluster.

When I bought it last year the knockoff Experian carfax didn't show any red flags for mileage.

The records seemed to increase in mileage normally with a gap of a couple of years before going back to believable numbers.

I upgraded to a new scanner, plugged it in for shits and giggles, and instead of seeing 270k, I see 435k on the PCM odometer.

Are the PCM odometers known to be accurate on early 4th gens?

The wear and tear on the truck does not suggest 435k, but this may have been well-maintained.

Hoping I didn't get screwed by the dealer, although a 400k Cummins doesn't concern me much.

I believe your scanner is reading in Kilometres not miles.

    435,000 Kilometers equals 270,296 miles.

A light just turned on - you are correct - thanks for your insight.

This must be like how the odometers stop counting at 1,000,000 KM because that's what the PCM tracks, even on trucks counting miles in the cluster
