Forged Dually Wheels 22s Or 20s?

I have a 2015 RAM 3500 DRW 2.5" Thuren leveling coils / Thuren adjustable track bar.

The truck currently has stock Alcoa wheels with 35 12.50 tires.

Looking to get some nice forged wheels.

Should I go with 20s or 22s with 35 12.50s?

Leaning more towards 22s for the more wheel for the same price.

I don't tow often, but I tow a 17k lbs 5th wheel when I do.

I primarily drive the truck daily.

Curious to hear y'all's opinions.

I tend to go with the smaller the rim, the more pleasant the ride will be on bumps.

You'll have more side walls, which cushions.

I have 20s on mine, rides ok.

My issue is the kit under it, not so much the rims.

All personal preference and sharing my recommendation.

Towing-wise, I'd personally stick to a smaller diameter rim.

I know the 22s will ride rougher, but either way, these 3500s ride rough.

You can say that again about riding rough, LOL.

I went with 18” rims with 35x12.50 tires because I wanted more tire sidewall with less of a chance of busting a rim compared to having a bigger rim with less sidewall.

I also have the stock Alcoa wheels on my dually.

I like the way they look and see no reason to change them.

I wanted 20s when I replaced mine.

They didn't have that size in the style I liked.

So I got 24s with 35 12.5.

Honestly, I couldn't tell much about the difference in ride quality.

It's a 1-ton dually; it will ride like an old wagon.

My single rear 3500 rides are very nice with my Thuren suspension system.

Also, tire pressure can make a difference in how rough it rides.
