MM3 Tuner: Quick Learn After Valve Body?

Hey guys, I’m putting in Randy's Babymaker1000 tonight and will be doing some weight loss this weekend.

I was talking to Randy’s, and they say I need to put the trans in a quick learn.

So, can the MM3 put it in a quick learn?

Also, if I’m doing everything at once.

Would the valve body and total weight loss with an MM3 tuner also reset the trans?

Or do I still need to put the truck into a quick learn?

    Thanks, guys.

I don't think the mm3 has quick learning capabilities.

I'm sure the Snap-on scanner can do it with the current software update.

I bought the automotive ingenuity software to do it myself when I swapped a built transmission in.

Still, I got nervous about screwing anything up, so I paid a local diesel mechanic to install the trans and do the quick-learn.

The MM3 will not perform a quick learn.

You will need a higher-end scan tool or AlfaOBD software.

The quick learning needs to be performed after replacing the valve body and then followed up with the drive learn cycle.

Can I get the quick learning done before I load my tunes?

I’m asking because I’m doing my valve body tonight, and it would be easy for me to get someone to perform a quick learn tomorrow.

I’m sending my stock file tonight, so once I get those back, I will finish my weight loss program.

Should I do the quick learning after I have installed all my weight loss?

    Thank you.

Quick learning must be done for the transmission to work regardless of when you load the tune.

    Ok, that’s what I thought.

So, no harm done doing the quick learn-before tune.

The drive learns should still be done after the tune is flashed.

Keep it under 30% throttle for about 100 miles of nonhighway, stop-go city driving.

I went to get my quick learn today from a local guy with a snap-on scanner, but nothing on his scanner says trans quick learn.

Is there something else we need to look for?

    Different wording, maybe?

    Thank you, guys.

Hello, scanners are like phones; model numbers and software will significantly help with any procedure's advice.

Vague questions without details can lead to faulty advice.

I got nothing with just a Snap-on scanner?
