It is a thing, but honestly, I rarely use mine.
Cummins power, Aisin, and 4:10 gear helps.

I use mine reversing my 35-foot hay trailer.
It's especially nice if you have a manual.
You let the clutch out and crawl, and you can turn completely locked out without binding.
I would definitely use it if manual trans.
