Thread: Charging Dual Batteries?

    Charging Dual Batteries?

I've read conflicting info on how to do this.

Can someone please advise on the proper procedure for doing this while the batteries are still connected to the vehicle?

    Re: Charging Dual Batteries?

Generally, have a charger hooked up to one of the batteries.

I did the driver-side "KOEO" key on the engine off," and you should see around 12.6v or higher.

Do the stock file first; it will walk you through each necessary step.

Then, apply the custom file right afterward.

Between the two files, don't start the truck up.

I did, and nothing happened except every DTC known to man kept popping up.

If this happens, clear all DTCs and start all over.

Once both have been successful, you're all set.

It depends on your batteries' age, health, and state of charge.

I would first fully charge both batteries.

While flashing your tunes, the battery voltage should not drop below 12.6 Volts.

Connect a battery maintainer to the driver's side battery with sufficient amperage to hold the battery voltage at 12.6V or above during the flashing procedure.
