    2015 RAM Aftermarket Radio?

I never did get my in-console USB port to work, so I'm considering upgrading the radio.

My question is, does ANYONE make an aftermarket unit that supports all my OEM functions?

Crutchfield tells me there's no connector made to use the oem bluetooth microphone.

If that's the case, I'd be in the market for a cheap oem premium sound radio if anyone has one for sale.

    Thanks for any input.

When I replaced the radio in my 12, the adapter harness connected to everything, EXCEPT the factory mic in the rearview mirror.

I recently replaced the radio in the wife's 17 4Runner and the same thing.

I just don't understand why OEMs make wiring a mic so complicated.

I just wonder if it's a basic 2 wire mic?

If so, I wouldn't be afraid to cut & splice the wires to try it.

Does all of your steering wheel controls work with the new head unit?

    The voice commands, etc?

I'm trying to remember the mic situation but it wasn't a simple as splice 2 wires as I would have done that too.

I used an iDatalink Maestro interface and was able to keep steering wheel controls and uConnect, but I eventually disabled uConnect and used Android Auto.

The Maestro kit was expensive at the time but also the only kit available that retained all factory functions in a single kit.

There are probably a dozen other companies making kits for our trucks now.

So, once again, not to try to revive an older thread.

But I’m in another form where they do a bunch of conversions like this (mainly 1500s), but it’s still all the same.

Basically, that needs to be a 2500 part.

They have a Ram vendor that can cross-reference for the part you would need.

But anyway, to get it to work, you’ll need another splice harness that they make for you.

I bought a media hub conversion for my 2016 to 2018 Apple CarPlay radio.

As far as the Mike in the review mirror my Truck came with it factory, so I didn’t need that additional harness.

I can contact him and see if he has any more available.

He does high-quality work and warranties his harnesses, as well as assists in troubleshooting anything installed by him.

There have been issues with infotainment Harnesses, so people have been purchasing from him instead, which fixes most of the issues.

The only downside to him is that he does all these things in his spare time off work.

But he will take orders and help out with a good ETA of how long to make them if you want to try to give it a try.

(P.S.sorry if anything sounds wonky or Misspelled; I’m using voice to talk going down Bumpy Oilfield Road)

    Thanks for all the input.

My only issue with my current radio is that the center console USB port doesn't work, so I'm unable to update my nav maps.

I replaced the USB hub itself, and it still doesn't work, so I assume it's an issue with the radio itself.

I'm now thinking, if possible, I'd like to update the radio to a newer one with Android Auto.

If you would, please contact him and see if he can help me make that possible.

He can email me directly at onebad427@gmail.com or message me here.

    Thank you!

    Re: 2015 RAM Aftermarket Radio?

I've put two aftermarket radios in a 16 and 18 but never got the console USB to work.

I changed the circuit board and everything, but it still doesn't work.

If I remember correctly, the radio I put in my truck had 2 USB plugs in the back, one for carplay and the other for power, but I don't know which part isn't working, i.e., the radio and USB or the circuit board replacement in the console.

So I just ran an auxiliary USB out of the console for my carplay, and yes, I had to run a mic due to the lack of utilization of the factory microphone.

Still, it is small, sits on my rearview mirror with the wire tucked under the headliner, and runs down the A-pillar.

I used the iDatalink Maestro module to retain my steering wheel button functions, and it works well and has various programming options.

Crutchfield said I would have to run an extra XM satellite antenna, but you can buy an adapter and utilize the factory antenna.
